Adiscon joins connect.IT Heilbronn-Franken

Adiscon (rsyslog’s main sponsor) has joined connect.IT Heilbronn-Franken. Short version: I want more first-hand input from real deployments in AI, logging, and security. Local practitioners have plenty of it. Turning those lessons into clear guidance helps the global rsyslog community. Simple.

I am looking forward to doing the networking myself. It will not be a solo act; colleagues will join where it makes sense. I am also ready to show our point of view and vision — useful input for others, too. At least so I think.

Why connect.IT?

It is a focused regional hub with the right mix: users with everyday production issues and peers from large software companies who bring a different angle — platform roadmaps, cloud architecture patterns, governance, compliance. So it is not only user stories; it is also vision from people building the underlying platforms. That combination is useful.

This complements what we already do: work with users in confidential production cloud projects and keep an operations view through our relationship with DigitalOcean. connect.IT is another input channel into the same feedback loop.

What this means for rsyslog users

  • Listen first, compare approaches, then publish patterns that survive load and failure.
  • Stay vendor-neutral and pragmatic; avoid lock-in.
  • Turn real-world input into clearer guidance and better interoperability.

Human side

Tech is better when people talk. As a side-note, I am considering short online office hours to reach the international user base more directly. Undecided, but promising.
